Personality:
Highly intelligent, Blue Blood is an example of a horse that can run circles around a man. She carefully watches everything around her, easily learning from what she sees and picking up new tricks in the blink of an eye. It's a habit that is both a blessing and a curse, as it made her remarkably easy to train, yet also causes havoc on the yard when she reveals that she's learnt to slip out of her headcollar, or that she can now open gates, or any other irritating little quirk that she's recently picked up.
Blue loves celery. After she eats it, she will happily stick her tongue out, taking no notice at the laughter directed her way as it lolls comedically from her mouth. Why she does this, nobody knows, but it is something that has happened ever since she got her first taste of the treat at a young age.
This horse is absolutely bomb proof. The world could be ending all around her and she's probably still be standing where she is, happily munching away at whatever snacks she can find. Nothing seems to faze her, not even pushy and boisterous horses that she may bump up against while running - something that is very useful when it comes to her tactics on the track.

Racing Info:
Race Record: 8-2-4-2
Earnings: Surface Preference: Dual
Distance: 5-8 Furlongs Grade: Five Trainer: Aaron Evertt Jockey: Alex Shade Leg Type: Rail Hugger In a race, instead of focusing on settling into a certain position that she finds comfortable in the placings of the pack, Blue Blood's aim is to get as close to the rail as possible. She uses her small size to her advantage while doing this - it helping her to more easily shift between other horses. When she gets to the rail, she sticks by it for as long as she can, working her way up the pack from wherever she found herself and only leaving her position if it is to overtake a horse in front of her (after which, she will move back toward the rail again). This slightly reduces the length of the race, allowing her the opportunity to put more stamina into her running and push herself harder. On the last length, she finally swings out from the rail - moving to centre of the track instead as she makes a dash for victory. |
