Personality:
Affair is the spitting image of his dam inside and out. He's sleek as a sea lion in the sun and graceful as a swan when he takes to the track. He's a gentlemen most of the time, Aaron is sure given some time, the horse will mellow out and be one of the easiest horses to handle around the farm, even for a stud. Affair loves attention and if he feels he doesn't have the crowds he'll throw in an occasional buck or rear just to make a scene so everyone notices him. He thrives on the competition of the sport and the roar of the crowd.
Affairs favorite pastime has to be pulling people in from the aisle of the barn for a hug with his head. He's a very affectionate horse and if he feels that no one is giving him enough attention he can get mouthy. A jolly ball is usually enough to curb this habit some but he definitely is a people-oriented horse and much prefers their company over that of other horses.
He's a pretty solid dude and rarely spooks at anything... except chickens. He doesn't really even spook at them he just hates them and would much rather see them squished into the ground than running around in his presence. Honestly, anything that looks like a chicken this horse will just try to lawn dart. Geese on the track you say? Yup he's out for blood. Usually this quirk wasn't too big of a deal once Hadley removed all the chickens from the farm but occasionally there will be geese on the training track, or on the track during a race. Let's just say he picks up speed when he sees one.

Racing Info:
Surface Preference: Dirt
Distance: 5-8 Furlongs Grade: Three Trainer: Aaron Evertt Jockey: Alex Shade Leg Type: Mid-Packer Affair takes his sweet time at the beginning of the race. He loads pretty easily but he would much rather use the entire race to get up to speed. However he doesn't particularly want to be dead last either so he'll run at the back of the mid-pack and just flatten from there. He scares the bejesus out of everyone with how slowly he breaks but he makes quick work of his competition in the sprints. He likes the competition and he'll willingly get into a stretch battle even though he likely has more left in the tank than his foe. He has his dams quick turn of foot and can rocket lengths ahead of his foe's in just a few strides if asked. |
