Personality:
Definitely one of the most handsome two year olds in his crop, Harley is an absolutely striking colt with kind hazel eyes and a heart of absolute gold. While he's definitely not the biggest nor baddest of the bunch he makes up for his small stature with his tremendous heart and huge personality. Absolutely fearless when it comes to anything he does, Harley is not spooky nor is he afraid of a little competition on the track. He's extremely inquisitive and curious, which is why he is not spooky - this boy gets into literally everything and anything he can. Hence why loud noises, falling objects, and really anything that usually spooks a horse is quite ineffective on him. He's heard and seen it all due to the fact that his meddling curiosity is usually the cause of all the random crashes in the barn. Despite his mischievous acts that he performs on a daily basis, he has easily become a barn favorite. Overly spoiled by attention and treats, Harley is as loyal as they come. He is willing to go above and beyond for his handlers hence why he always tries his hardest on the track. Harley has that kind of "dumb gelding" personality despite being a colt. While not the brightest animal, his work ethic and willingness to go above and beyond has quickly molded him into quite the talented two year old. Naturally talented and malleable to his jockey's aids he is the perfect racehorse. His only flaw is that with this "dumb gelding" personality comes a truly playful spirit. Always looking to get into some trouble with whoever he can get close enough to, Harley will always attempt to instigate something with other colts and will become quite puckish in the company of other horses.

Race Record: 4-1-0-0 (25%)
Earnings: Surface Preference: Dirt
Distance: 9-12 Furlongs Grade: Five Trainer: Steve Wilson Jockey: Jason Todd Leg Type: Solo Runner Always one of the quickest out of the gates, this usually gives his jockey plenty of time to put Harley in a position where he will excel. As mentioned before, Harley listens to his jockey's aids extremely well and during a race is extremely malleable. Harley can be easily distracted by other horses - therefore his jockey will find him a spot on the rail or outside away from other horses, whether that be at the rear of the pack or in the alone down on the rail. He will never be the one to lead the race as that is just asking for horses to come up and test his playful spirit. If that happens, Harley can quickly exhaust his energy and get worked up. However, as long as his jockey can keep Harley's head on his shoulders throughout the race, he is always going to give 110% on the stretch. One thing that Harley does know is that the homestretch to the wire is all business. As long as he makes it off that final turn with his energy and head in tact, Harley will flip the competitive switch on and charge down that stretch to the wire with everything he's got. Fearless and gritty, he'll fight off challengers, squeeze through tight spots, and weave his way to the winner's circle with all he's got. |
